Brook

Brook was bred by James River Retrievers in Kent Store, Virginia.  As the foundation to our chocolate Labrador breeding program, we feel she is everything we want in our line and is a great example of how a Labrador Retriever should look. She exhibits a boxier head, the classic otter tail, and has a smaller balanced frame with an athletic body type. 

 

Brook has earned her HR hunt test title and is currently competing at the finished level (only needs one more pass to achieve her HRCH title). She has become an avid hunter and has about 250 retrieves in her 2025 hunting year alone. She is an excellent marker and has been complimented on this skill by many judges and trainers. Brook is completely amateur trained and handled by Jon Cammuso.

As a puppy, Brook was very easy to train and earned her intermediate trick title at 18 months old. She has a great on/off switch in the home and when its time to work or hunt, she turns up the energy.
